Guest Blogger Policy


Thank you for your interest in blogging with the Witchy Chicks. We get so many requests we've had to institute a policy for our guest bloggers, since spots are limited.

The Witchy Chicks are not taking new members--our blogroll is full, so please don't ask if you can join. We are a very unified group, so all regular members are hand-selected after much discussion.

Guest Bloggers must be:

Book-length fiction or nonfiction authors published with traditional large or small presses, or an E-publisher who does NOT offer self-publishing venues (no Lulu.com, iUniverse, etc.). This means you must have a signed contract in hand from them. Work should be in the paranormal/fantasy/magic realism genre. We're sorry, but we are not promoting self-published work.

OR

A professional bookseller who has insight on the industry, a professional literary agent with at least five or more legitimate sales under your belt, or publishing house editor.

Willing to abide by our rules: no author/editor/agent bashing allowed, and posts should more than simply self-promotion.  Posts should relate to: paranormal fiction, movies, etc. or about writing in the paranormal genre. If your blog post is nonfiction focused, the blog should be more than a simple overview of magic/etc., since many of our readers (and regular blog members) already have a working knowledge of this subject. Any nonfiction blog posts should be tolerant of other belief systems and absolutely no Christian/Jewish/Pagan/Atheist bashing allowed.

Yasmine and Linda reserve the right to reject any offered guest blog that does not meet these criteria.

We have a limited amount of spots to fill and try to mix well-established authors with newer authors. But since we have limited space, we do have to turn down a number of requests. Please don't take this personally.

If guest bloggers choose to run a contest on the day they blog, they must do so off their own site--we no longer run contests from the group blog.

We book several months in advance. Please don't request a spot right away because chances are, they're filled.
